The Masjid is 7.5 km south of Makkah and is closest to the boundary on the road of Madinah. It also acts as a Meeqat for the people of Makkah, a station to change into pilgrim’s garment. Mosque Aisha has all the facilities for pilgrims for baths, ablution and changing clothes. It is also used to store the garments of the pilgrims who visit the mosque. Residents of Makkah who wish to perform Umrah visit this mosque in order to enter into the state of Ihram so that the condition of travelling for Umrah is fulfilled, before returning back to Makkah (for Umrah).
Jaabir (RA) reports that because Aisha (RA) was menstruating the Prophet (PBUH) instructed her to perform all the various rites of Hajj except for the Tawaf. She performed Tawaf after her menstruation ended. She said, “O Rasulullah (PBUH)! While you have performed Hajj and Umrah, I have performed only Hajj.” The Prophet (PBUH) then instructed her brother Abdur-Rahman (RA) to take her to Tan’eem from where she performed her Umrah after Hajj during the month of Dhul Hijjah.
It is easy to reach Ayesha Mosque from the gate of Masjid Al Haram - Bab-e-Fahad by boarding a taxi or a local bus which takes only 15 minutes.
