Suggested Packing List for Your Umrah Trip

Before leaving for Umrah, you must realize the fact that it is going to be a tedious journey and you are going to face hurdles if you do not carry the essential items that you may need there. People are often confused about how to prepare for this spiritual journey and what to pack for Umrah. It is a good idea to make a list of essential things to pack for Umrah, and prepare Umrah checklist and packing guide before embarking on your journey, so that your Umrah trip remains hassle-free and memorable.

Here is the complete packing list for Umrah travel that we have prepared for your ease. These are some of the most indispensable things that you must carry on your journey:

  • Before you leave your house for the airport, ensure you have your passport, visa, and other important documents.
  • Ihram is the most important thing for Umrah. For men, it is a two piece of plain white cloth. You must also pack a belt to hold your Ihram. Packing list for women includes Abayas and Hijab for Umrah as they are permitted to wear their ordinary clothes as Ihram.
  • Reading material such as a pocket Quran and dua’a books.
  • A Tasbeeh to do Dhikr or Ibadah.
  • A comprehensive Umrah guide book with the complete procedure of Umrah.
  • An easy to carry prayer mat as the weather in Makkah is hot and it is difficult to sit on floor while prayers.
  • An umbrella to resist the harsh sun.
  • Daily use items such as toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, unscented soaps, shampoo, towel and unscented cream or lotion.
  • Basic medicines such as Painkillers, Crocin, etc.
  • 2 to 3 pair of slippers as losing shoes is common in mosques.
  • A small waist bag that can be carried easily to carry money and important documents.
  • An Alarm clock.
  • Carry a phone without camera because smartphones with camera are not allowed in Haram.
  • Socks. You may buy it from there also.
  • A pair of scissors for cutting hair or a razor for shaving.
  • Nail-cutter.
  • A travel iron as you may not get the facility of pressing clothes available at every place you stay.
  • A pair of sunglasses for the harsh sunlight in Saudi Arabia.
  • You should always carry an empty bottle to fill it with water or Zamzam to keep yourself hydrated.
  • Make sure you pack all the required sleeping accessories such as sleeping bag, a sheet, inflatable pillow and everything should be easy to carry.
